- Thursday, June 07, 2012
Fairway Medical Surgical Hospital introduced last month the addition of Hand Therapy services. With this new addition, Fairway Medical has excitedly welcomed Beth Erwin, OTR/L, CHT, to their staff. Erwin specializes in the treatment of upper extremity injuries, specifically elbow, wrist and hand. Fairway Medical Hand Therapy is an extension of Fairway Medical Physical Therapy services and will be located in the Physical Therapy facility.
Erwin brings over eleven years of experience to Fairway Medical. She has been exclusively treating hands for ten years. She most recently was a staff therapist at Hand Surgical Associates in Metairie, LA. Prior to that, she worked with different orthopedic organizations in Baton Rouge, LA and Lawrenceville, GA. Erwin received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist and a Certified Hand Therapist.
Beth Erwin is a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana and a member of the American Society of Hand Therapist. "I am looking forward to bringing hand therapy to Fairway Medical Physical Therapy. I am passionate about the field of hand therapy and this is a great opportunity to share that passion with the people of the Northshore. It is a fun and energetic group at Fairway and that makes rehabilitation of a hand injury much more tolerable for the patient. For many, myself included, our hands are our livelihood and an injury to one can severely limit one's lifestyle. Helping people return to their normal lives as quickly as possible is the most rewarding part of my job," says Erwin regarding her position at Fairway Medical Surgical Hospital.
